We recently caught up with Davy Williamson. He was nice enough to answer a few questions for the BMS Radio Network.

What is your music background?
I come from a family full of musicians, all instruments and all types of influences. My favorite types of music are Hard Rock, Metal, Motown, and Punk.

Who are your musical influences?
I am a big fan of anything, really. Lagwagon, Metallica, Marvin Gaye, and Foo Fighters are a few of my favorites.

What are your long-term career goals?
I want to be able to perform on a regular bases all over the world, and not have to come back and work a day job.

What type of recording process do you use and who produced your music?
I play and record all the instruments myself, so its a pretty simple process. Whatever I say in the band goes. I produce the music with the help of Shawn Adkins from Back-A-Round Records in Fayetteville, NC.

Do you ever get the chance to perform live?
Not since Covid-19. Prior to that I’d perform anywhere from 200-300 shows a year.

Are you looking to remain independent or would you prefer a major label deal?
I am currently with MTS Records, and Spinnup/UMG for Distribution. Tinderbox Music is my affiliation for Licensing.

If anything, what would you change about the music industry today?
I would make it so that you would have to be vetted as a person capable of playing an instrument and on a professional level. I’ll leave it at that.

Do you have any advice for up-and-coming artists?
Yes. Keep grinding. They will all eventually know you by name.

Anything else you want to say on the people?
Hope to see you all soon! Rock On!
