So Mint by IamSnap

“So Mint” is a brand new jam by Australian born artist IamSnap. It made its debut on the Dope Urban Jamz Chart this week at Number 31.

IamSnap kicked of his music career in the capital city of Canberra. He has writing experience on hit shows like Britain’s Got Talent and Xfactor Australia.

He is influenced by west coast Hip-Hop artists Eazy E, DJ Quik, and Spice 1. However, he also gains prestige by studying acts like Bruno Mars and Coldplay.

We caught up with IamSnap recently. He was nice enough to answer a few questions for Hits You Love Radio.

What is your music background?

I am an Australian recording artist of over 20 years, who started making music in my hometown of Canberra. After 5 or so years I got pretty good and started writing hooks for artists from Britain’s Got Talent, Xfactor Australia, and The Voice Australia. I collaborated with B.G Knoccout and opened shows for Bone Thugz n Harmony.

Who are your musical influences?

In my earlier years I think I knew every lyric of every west coast rapper known to man. This includes Eazy E, DJ Quik, Spice 1, Too Short, and Dru Down. However in my later years, coming to appreciate good Pop music, I really took a liking to Sia, Bruno Mars, ColdPlay and many more.

What are your long-term career goals?

Plaques, plaques, plaques.

What type of recording process do you use and who produced your music?
I write my stuff to beats supplied by the producers Gore Ocean and Keezy Beatz.

Are you looking to remain independent or would you prefer a major label deal?

I’d prefer to be Independent and be buried with my masters.

If anything, what would you change about the music industry today?

I would stop the streaming bullshit and make people pay for fucking music like they used to.

Do you have any advice for up-and-coming artists?

I would say if you’re not ready to give up your life forever, go get another job.

Anything else you want to say on the people?

Yea, listen to IamSnap and enjoy all 30 albums I’m about to release. Yes, 30.
